Thank you all so much for your good wishes. They must be working wonders because Sarge was able to go back home to his barn. He's not speaking to Alpha Mom right now. She says he feels he made it perfectly clear that he wanted to go home last night and she did not take him there, so she's getting the cold shoulder right now. She says that's OK and that he'll get over it. I can see his point, although I don't do cold shoulder myself. I prefer to inflict guilt by looking sad and soulful.
We are a little worried that this is the beginning of something. Sarge isn't a young horse. As far as Alpha Mom knows this is the first time he's colicked and we hope it was just an isolated incident rather than the beginning of trend. Anyhoo, thank you again so much for all your caring and concern. It really helps and we appreciate it more than you know.
We will keep paws (and hooves) crossed that Sarge will be okay!
ReplyDeleteSam
We don't really know what that means to say the horse colicked, but it doesn't sound very good. We are very happy to hear that Sarge is doing better. Paws crossed it was just a one time occurrence.

I am glad Sarge is doing better. Hope things continue to improve!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that rabbits and horses have a similar digestive system. Isn't that strange? You know, we added a rabbit to our family last fall. This winter she had a few scary bouts of Gi-stasis, which is quite serious and I think similar to colic in horses. Lulu is fine now, but we have to watch very carefully and make sure things keep moving, if you know what I mean.
Your pal, Pip
Paws crossed here for Sarge hoping it was an only one episode!
ReplyDeleteGlad he is doing well!
Take care

Hi Lola
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear Sarge is doing better.
You know what, I try to inflict guilt by looking sad and soulful too, but it never seems quite to work. Somehow my face isn't constructed right for the sad and soulful look. (It does however fall naturally into a happy and over-excited look...)
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
We're so happy to hear that Sarge is doing better. We'll keep our paws crossed.
