Power of the Paw Working Well! Thank you so much.

Thank you all so much for your good wishes. They must be working wonders because Sarge was able to go back home to his barn. He's not speaking to Alpha Mom right now. She says he feels he made it perfectly clear that he wanted to go home last night and she did not take him there, so she's getting the cold shoulder right now. She says that's OK and that he'll get over it. I can see his point, although I don't do cold shoulder myself. I prefer to inflict guilt by looking sad and soulful.

We are a little worried that this is the beginning of something. Sarge isn't a young horse. As far as Alpha Mom knows this is the first time he's colicked and we hope it was just an isolated incident rather than the beginning of  trend. Anyhoo, thank you again so much for all your caring and concern. It really helps and we appreciate it more than you know.

  1. We will keep paws (and hooves) crossed that Sarge will be okay!

  2. We don't really know what that means to say the horse colicked, but it doesn't sound very good. We are very happy to hear that Sarge is doing better. Paws crossed it was just a one time occurrence.

  3. I know a little about Colic and twisted gut.. Scary stuffs fur sure!!
I am gonna send Sarge a few more Vibes just to be on the safe side, VIBES>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  4. I'm so glad Sarge is back in his barn and feeling better!! We're sending more healthy vibes to Sarge!

  5. That's great news... I'm so glad to hear Sarge is feeling alright and gets to go back home to the barn. What a relief... have a good weekend.

  8. I am glad Sarge is doing better. Hope things continue to improve!

Did you know that rabbits and horses have a similar digestive system. Isn't that strange? You know, we added a rabbit to our family last fall. This winter she had a few scary bouts of Gi-stasis, which is quite serious and I think similar to colic in horses. Lulu is fine now, but we have to watch very carefully and make sure things keep moving, if you know what I mean.

    Your pal, Pip

  9. Paws crossed here for Sarge hoping it was an only one episode!
    Glad he is doing well!
    Take care
    Kisses and hugs

  10. So happy for Sarge!!! He's one tough guy!

  11. We're sooooo happy to hear that Sarge is alright and back in his safe house. We hope it was a once only, too.

  12. Neigh Sarge! Please feel all better soon, and forgive your Alpha Mom. Humans are a bit strange, you know!

  13. Hi Lola
So glad to hear Sarge is doing better.
You know what, I try to inflict guilt by looking sad and soulful too, but it never seems quite to work. Somehow my face isn't constructed right for the sad and soulful look. (It does however fall naturally into a happy and over-excited look...)
    Toodle pip!

  14. We're so happy to hear that Sarge is doing better. We'll keep our paws crossed.

  18. miss lola,

i'm back cuz i wanted to woof that the furminator thingie is not scary at all! it feels reaaaaaally gooooooood when mama does it...kinda like i'm gettin' back scritchies! just make sure that if your mama does get one for you 'n franklin that she doesn't push down too hard on your back when she's furminatin'. that's the only way that it could get uncomfy.
