Remembering September 11th, 2001

From the World Trade Center's Heroic Dog Yearbook. They came from all over the country to help, both humans and dogs. We always want to be where we're needed. That's something worth remembering along with the horror of the day.

  1. I do remember reading and hearing about dogs who helped find people who were under the rubble and I am sure those dogs were very proud of themselves for their selfless work. Dogs are pawsome, that's for sure! I will check out that link when I have a moment to do so!

  11. Last year our Mom did a blog post on the dog heroes of 9/11. There was a Portie named Dutch at Ground Zero and he died of cancer as have so many of the rescue dogs that were there. It's good to remember that some of the heroes had four legs.

  13. Yes Lola,We are remembering too..all those who died, all those who helped save lives, all those who lost so much...
In India we understand a lot about terrorism and the event of the attack on our lovely, proud hotel Taj in Mumbai is just too fresh...
The hotel re-opened after over a year of repair activities and proudly stands tall.
But will this terror game end..ever?

  14. What a great picture! We hope that what people remember about 9/11 is how many people came together to help each other and that we became better people for it.

  15. Lovely and considerate post, Lola. I decided to provide the entertainment today for when people needed a break from being sad.
Since you asked, Linguini and the goat are just fine. They're having cocktails at a local bar.
