Thinking of Wilf

It's hard to think about anything else tonight. This blog was only a month or so old  when one of  our new blogging friends posted about a dog named  Digby being very, very sick and asking that everdoggy go over and leave some words of support. Well, we didn't know Digby or his older brother Wilf, but it seemed like an easy enough thing to do. It was impossible not to fall in love with Digby as soon as we saw his photo.  He hung on and fought hard for a while and there were even times of hope, but in the end he succumbed to illness. Hearts broke all across the world when that happened. We all felt  for Angus and the font most of all. And now, just a few short months later,  Wilf is in his final days - hours - according to his Vet. Life certainly doesn't make any claims about being fair, but it just seems so extra wrong for Wilf to be taken from his family when they've just said good-bye to his little brother. Our thoughts are with them all tonight.

  1. Oh, how we do agree with you. Just so very sad.

  3. Although I do not know Wilf, I did go there and left a few words. It doesn't seem like enough though.

  4. I was so sad when we heard the news about Wilf this morning. We were hoping so hard that it would turn out to be something different. It's all just so sad.

  10. Life can be verry cruel sometimes and knowin Wilf be so sick and has so little time left is one ov the cruellest blows for his family. They all be in my little chav heart and my prayers right now.

we were only settling down to the change in the header picture, minus Digby nad minus his name and now this....
Hope Wilf will not have to know any earthly pain in his final days..

  15. This was a Most Beautiful post, Lola. We feel exactly the same way and our hearts just broke into a million pieces when we heard the news. It seems so silly to say, "It isn't fair," but, well, it just really, really isn't. Our thoughts are with them all.

    Gentle wiggles & wags,
