Major Success Story for Rescued Pit-Pei

You gotta love this one. There was this headline: Horribly abused dog wins Sunriver Resort contest.
A large margin of online voters agreed that the victim of one of Oregon's worst animal-abuse cases should be the next Director of Barketing at the Sunriver Resort.
Tivi, a Sharpei-pit bull mix, was found on the side of the road two years ago -- his muzzle taped, bones broken, his body doused in gasoline and burned, then left for dead.
This week, he took a commanding lead over nearly 300 other entrants in a contest to find the next public face for the Central Oregon resort's pet-friendly lodgings.
There's more about prizes and how he's been adopted by a wonderful, loving human. He still has to wear clothes because of damage that some of the burns left. Then there was a link to his Tumblr blog. . He and I have a few things in common. We're the same age and we don't  like walks in the rain for instance. Anyway, I read through his whole blog - which is mostly photos -  and fell in love with him and with his human, Jonathan, and I thought I'd like to share because I bet a lot of you would enjoy it, too. His life has had a major upgrade and it's looking like happily ever after for Tivi.

(I hope Jonathan doesn't mind that I sort of borrowed this picture. I just wanted to show how cute Tivi is.)

  1. How cool! He definitely deserves the honor after that! Congratulations to him!

  2. My mom first heards about him on a pit bull forum that she likes to visit sometime. She just fell in luvs with him and hoped and hoped he would finds his forever home and when he did, she got all kinds of leaky. I'm so glad he won that contest and I think Jonathan is a real angel of human for loving him and giving him a home.

    Wiggles & WAgs,

  3. It is hard to imagine abuse of any animal. I am glad he has been rescued.

  4. Holy Cat Crap...why in da world would somebuddy do that to an animal. Well, I'd like to...nevers mind, I can'ts say what I'd do to them here.
Thank goodness they is still kind pople in da world to help defenseless animals and gives them loving homes.
Thank you fur sharing this cuz we haven't heard about it.

  5. Wow ... that poor dog. I am glad he has a much better life now!

  6. That is such a great story, Lola!

By the way, I have a feeling that the "no rain" approach may be common to many Shar-Peis. My friend ViVi hates the rain!

  7. That is SO upsetting to think that two-leggers would do something like that. (I had to censor that sentence.) Thank you for posting about Tivi. And who-wee... he IS cute, you're right!

  8. What a nice ending....sometimes Mom things the world would be better without some two leggers...
    Happy Weekend,
    Madi and Mom

  9. Tivi is a brave dog and we're so glad he has a safe loving family to take care of him.

  10. I am so happy for Tivi. He now has the love and attention that he deserves.
    Kisses and hugs

  11. I found out about Tivi through a Facebook group. I've been following his story faithfully, and like Maizy's Mom, I got all kinds of leaky when I heard he found his forever home. But then it got even better! His Daddy, Jon, has a great blog and he shares just wonderful photos with awesome and funny and tender captions. Just lovely. So, so glad it has worked out so well for both of them!

  12. miss lola,
that tivi is a way handsome dude, and i am so so so glad that he has a wonderful forevarrr daddy now after the horrible thingies that happened to him. i'm super happy that he won the contest!!
    the booker man

  13. That was a wonderful story but the circumstances in which Tivi was found was really horrible... happy that Tivi found a loving home in Jon's... thanks for sharing this story with us.

    Licks, hero

  14. It doesn't help to know we are so helpless when it comes to animal cruelty.. It makes mommy very upset whenever she hears about these kinda stuff as she can't understand why anyone would want to abuse an animal..

Anyway, we are very happy to know that Tivi finally found a new home and an excellent owner.. You could almost feel Jon's love for Tivi through the pics he posted.. Tivi looked all spoilt !! :D

And Lola, Thanks for all the words of encouragement during this confinement time.. We really appreciate it and I will try to eat more !!

    hugs and kisses
    Moiselle and Mommy
